I’m funny, intense and outrageous; a storyteller with a sardonic point of view.
I’m an actress and voice-over artist based in NYC. These days, I mainly seem to use loud high-pitched voices to get my girls to brush their teeth in the morning and log onto computer school!
I was born in Chicago, grew up in Houston, Istanbul and Kuala Lumpur (well a small village two hours south of KL called Kerteh but more on that later…). I attended Boston University College of Fine Arts. I started my career in Boston but have made New York City my home for over 20 years. NYC has my heart.
I had the privilege of working with acclaimed Dutch director Nazmiye Oral & Adelheid Roosen on No Longer Without You (FIAF Crossing The Line Festival), a conversation about a Westernized Dutch-Turkish daughter of devout Muslims.
My favorite roles include Polyxena in The Greeks (Imua!), Jew Bertha in The Sporting Life (Studio 42) and ‘Crazy Park Slope Mom’.
A long-time storyteller, I am currently developing original work about my Turkish-American-Jewish heritage (I am a native Turkish speaker), the lunacy that is being a Park Slope mom; and The Meaning of My Name, a documentary about Muslim children growing up in NYC.
I live with my husband, two daughters and two cats in Brooklyn, New York.
